BUSTED: Nigerian Correctional Service Robs Inmates of Nothing Less Than N50 Million, Including Bobrisky in Kirikiri Maximum Prison

An investigative journalist with the X handle @pidomNigeria has made shocking allegations against the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), claiming that officers from the service robbed inmates of their money at Kirikiri Maximum Prison in Lagos.

According to the journalist, the incident occurred on Monday, May 13, 2024, when a team of officers allegedly from Abuja was sent to carry out the illicit act.

The journalist accused the NCS of stealing nothing less than 50 million naira from the inmates during the operation.

Furthermore, the journalist claimed that among those robbed was popular Nigerian internet personality and socialite, Bobrisky, who is reportedly housed in cell 2 of Kirikiri Maximum Prison.

In a tweet directed at the official X account of the Nigerian Correctional Service (@CorrectionsNg), the journalist vowed to expose the alleged thieves and called for a response from the authorities.

The tweet read, “On Monday 13th of May 2024, the Nigerian correctional service @CorrectionsNg sent a team of officers from Abuja to Kirikiri maximum prison Lagos, to rob the inmates of their monies. They stole nothing less than 50 million naira from inmates.

“Let them deny this @BTOofficial

“Shocking details coming up tomorrow.

“I will mess them up, and expose those thieves.

“Lest i forgot, the Nigerian correctional service @CorrectionsNg officers also stole from Bobrisky in cell 2, kikikiri maximum prison,” the tweet added.

The journalist’s allegations have sparked outrage and calls for an investigation into the matter. Concerns have been raised regarding the safety and security of inmates within the Nigerian correctional system.

As of now, the Nigerian Correctional Service has not issued a statement regarding the allegations made by the journalist.
