JUST IN: IGP Wakes Up, Unleashes Special Intervention Squad to Combat Abuja Kidnappings

Abuja

In response to the escalating wave of abductions and attacks in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has unveiled a specialized intervention squad dedicated to combating insecurity in the Nigerian capital.

The upsurge in criminal activities, attributed to bandits infiltrating the FCT from neighboring states, prompted the IGP to take decisive action.

During the launch, IGP Egbetokun emphasised the urgency of addressing the security challenges in Abuja and called on the newly formed squad to root out criminal elements.

The IGP assured that the squad, which already possesses considerable training, will undergo additional specialized training to enhance their capabilities further.

He expressed confidence that the relentless efforts of this intervention squad, backed by the full support of the Nigerian government and certain foreign governments, will bring an end to the reign of terror in Nigeria.

Egbetokun stated, “These men are going to be given special training. Don’t get me wrong, they are already well trained, but they are going to have additional training, and that training is not going to stop; they will continue to train regularly.

”The days of those terrorising Nigeria are numbered. I want to appeal to everyone to support this initiative, and please cooperate with these officers when they are out,” he pleaded. #Abuja
