Nigeria Had Been Bleeding Heavily Under PDP Leadership – APC Blames Party for Mismanaging the Nation

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that the country had been “bleeding heavily” due to the previous administrations of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before the 2015 general elections.

On Friday, the APC accused the PDP of “mismanaging the country,” suggesting that Nigerians were only now beginning to grasp the true meaning of “change.”

In response, the PDP urged the APC to reassess its policies to alleviate the economic hardship facing Nigerians. This was discussed during the party’s Board of Trustees meeting on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

In a statement signed by Senator Adolphus Wubara, the PDP expressed deep concern over the worsening economic situation after thoroughly evaluating the nation’s current state.

However, APC Director of Publicity, Alhaji Bala Ibrahim, dismissed the call for a policy shift during an interview with Daily Trust. He urged the opposition to abandon the idea of a policy reversal and instead support the government’s efforts to implement the President’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.

He said, “The country had been bleeding heavily under the leadership of the PDP; they mismanaged the country. So Nigerians are still watching and beginning to understand what change means.

“The APC as a ruling party is not intending to foist on the country anything that is going to injure democracy.

“The APC is a progressive party; it is a party that is out to bring changes that will bring about dividends of democracy to the people. Democracy is only vibrant when there is opposition, but let the opposition be constructive, not destructive.”
