Nigeria’s J-Tigress Defeat Uganda 71-67, Secure Spot in U-18 Afrobasket Final

Nigeria’s Junior D’Tigress secured a thrilling 71-67 victory over Uganda on Friday, advancing to the final of the FIBA U18 Women’s AfroBasket 2024.

The nail-biting semifinal took place at Pretoria University in South Africa, where the Nigerian team earned a place in the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2025 in Czechia. They join Mali, who dominated Cameroon 103-45 in the other semifinal earlier in the day.

Despite Uganda’s victory over the Junior D’Tigress in the Group Phase, the Junior D’Tigress exacted sweet revenge with their semifinal win.
