Nigeria Makes One Change for AFCON Semi-Final Against South Africa

Nigeria

Nigeria coach, Jose Peseiro, has made one change to his starting line-up for the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final clash against South Africa on Wednesday.

Bright Osayi-Samuel comes in for Porto’s Zaidu Sanusi on the left wing-back role, as Peseiro opts for more attacking flair against the Bafana Bafana.

Osayi-Samuel will join Alex Iwobi and Frank Onyeka in the mid field.

Ademola Lookman, Moses Simon and Victor Osimhen will play in a formidable front three for the Super Eagles.

The rest of the team remains unchanged from the 1-0 quarter final victory over Angola, with Nwabali in goal, William Troost-Ekong, Semi Ajayi, Ola Aina and Olisa Bassey in defence.

Nigeria, who is seeking the fourth AFCON title, will face a South African side that defeated Cape Verde 2-1 on penalties with goal keeper Ronwen Williams making an iconic four saves on the night.

The match will kick off at 6:00 PM local time (5:00 PM GMT) at the Stade de la Paix Stadium in Bouake, Ivory Coast.

The winner will advance to the final, where they will meet either Ivory Coast or DR Congo, who will play in the other semi final later on Wednesday.
