US lawmaker Riley Moore has described Nigeria as the most dangerous place in the world for Christians.
In a post on his official X account, Moore stated that 50,000–100,000 of brothers and sisters in Christ have been martyred since 2009, with 7,000 killed this year alone. “That’s 35 Christians murdered per day,” Moore wrote.
He thanked US President Donal Trump for designating Nigeria as Country of Particular Concern to end bloodshed and for tasking him to lead an investigation in the House of Representatives.
Moore also acknowledged efforts of @CatholicArena for helping shed light on genocide against Christians in Nigeria.
Many Nigerians reacted to Moore’s post, supporting his statements.
@cyfacesky commented : “Finally, the truth is breaking through. For years, Nigerian Christians have been slaughtered in silence while the world looked away. Thank you for standing for the persecuted Church. Their blood cries out for justice.”
Similarly, @Ohijeme added: “Thank you all for helping to amplify genocide going on in Nigeria against Christians with government very much complicit.”
In addition, @AllTheWayLFC noted: “Thank you congressman Riley for bringing to light killings that started from north eastern Nigeria, then to north Central, to middle belt and now trickling down to south.
“ US Trump should send help ASAP, we need these terrorists removed from earth before they kill another.”
Through his posts and public statements, Moore has been lending his voice to ongoing genocide against Christians in Nigeria and has openly criticized Nigerian government for indifference to killings and attacks, highlighting urgent need for international attention and action.
