Nigerian Army vows to Eliminate Criminals from Ondo State

A field training exercise named Exercise Still Water III, 2023, was launched on Monday by the Nigerian Army in Owo, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State. The exercise aims to simulate tactical operations and combat all forms of crimes as the festive season draws near.

The commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade in Ondo State, Brig.-Gen. Muktar Adamu, who was represented by the Garrison Commander, Col. Jibril Garba, said that the exercise would also cover cyber warfare operations. He said that the exercise would help to locate and clear the criminal hideouts of kidnappers, armed robbers, drug peddlers, armed bandits, cultists, and others in the area of responsibility (AOR).

He warned all criminal elements operating in the 32 Artillery Brigade area of responsibility to stop their nefarious activities or face the full wrath of the law. He also appealed to other security agencies, traditional rulers, and community leaders to cooperate with the military by providing relevant and credible information on security issues to make the state safe.

He said that the exercise was a demonstration of the Nigerian Army’s resolve to flush out criminals from Ondo State and ensure peace and security for the people. He added that the exercise would involve the participation of other sister security agencies to enhance the existing collaboration among them.

He noted that the exercise was necessary as the ’ember months’ usually witness increased criminal activities. He said that the exercise would provide different avenues to checkmate and stop the rise in criminal activities within the Brigade’s AOR.
