GWR: Nigerian Ironing Marathoner Stops at 142 hours Due to Health Concerns

Dauda Abdulfatai, a 27-year-old fashion designer from Kogi state, has called off his attempt to break the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest ironing marathon after 142 hours of non-stop ironing.

He started his challenge on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital, with the goal of ironing clothes for 200 hours. However, he had to stop on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, following medical advice from his health team.

Despite ending his marathon prematurely, he still managed to beat the previous record of 100 hours set by Gareth Sander of the United Kingdom in 2015. GWR reported that it took Gareth more than two weeks to recover from his feat.
