Apostle Arome Israel Osayi, the Founder and President of the Remnant Christian Network, has revealed that numerous preachers in Nigeria should be quarantined due to their excessive emphasis on the message of prosperity.
In a recently surfaced online message, the cleric argued that the focus on prosperity should not take precedence, emphasizing that true prosperity is a result of aligning oneself with God.
“If not because we are online I have a list of preachers in Nigeria that should be quarantined for a long time, at least for five years, in order to have adequate purging.”
“If the message of prosperity becomes a message that is in your front burner, you’re not useful to God,” Arome said.
Arome emphasized that following God’s commands would lead to prosperity naturally finding its way to you.
In urging his audience to be discerning about the messages of prosperity preached by leaders, he highlighted that certain individuals claiming to be men of God, using the prosperity message as a cover, were not called by Jesus Christ to gather followers.
“We need to be careful with the kind of prosperity message will preach. We have preachers Jesus did not call, but hiding under message of prosperity and you crowd trooping in there in order to tap from the prosperity”, Arome said
Arome expanded on the idea, asserting that a message of prosperity results from being in alignment with God.
He emphasized the importance of prioritizing the kingdom of God, stating that according to the Bible, the wealth of the gentiles will be bestowed upon you only after seeking God first.
Arome further explained that true prosperity comes when you fulfill God’s instructions and align your actions with His commandments.
“As powerful as the message of prosperity is, it is the consequence of alignment with God. You need to seek first the kingdom of God, His righteousness and He will give all the gentiles have gathered to you.
“Your alignment with kingdom things makes you eligible for kingdom support. You are not born to receive kingdom support if your life is not adequately aligned with the kingdom of God and doing what God want us to do is the secret of prosperity”, Apostle Osayi added.
The Prosperity Gospel, within Protestant Christianity, teaches that expressing faith through positive thoughts, affirmations, and financial contributions to the church will attract health, wealth, and happiness into the lives of believers. This doctrine is also known as the ‘health and wealth gospel’ or ‘name it and claim it.’

Furthermore, it asserts that salvation through Jesus Christ not only delivers believers from death and eternal damnation but also from poverty, sickness, and other adversities. Adherents of the Prosperity Gospel firmly believe that God desires believers to experience abundant blessings in this life, and that physical well-being and material prosperity are consistently part of God’s plan for the faithful.
According to this teaching, sickness and poverty are viewed as curses that, through redemption by the blood of Jesus, can be overcome through unwavering faith.
The Prosperity Gospel has exerted a significant influence on Christianity since the early 20th century and has continued to gain prominence in the 21st century. Many Pentecostal churches in Africa, the United States, and Europe are associated with this widely embraced doctrine.
