Amid Anti-Finance bill protest in Kenya, renowned media personality, Oseni Rufai, has urged Nigerian youths to be more intentional in their political engagement.
Recall that Parallel Facts reported that thousands of Kenyan youths marched peacefully against the controversial Finance Bill.
The protesters are demanding a fairer fiscal system that addresses the daily hardships faced by ordinary Kenyans. This movement, a stark contrast to past demonstrations, embraced technology and a carnival atmosphere.
Drawing a contrast with the political activism seen in Kenya, Rufai stated that Nigerian youths need to be political intentional and he highlighted how Kenyan youths have taken a firm stand against the finance bill.
He further stated that through the protest, Kenyan youths have already warned parliamentarians who voted in favour of the bill that they would not retain their seats in the next elections.
Taking to his X handle, Rufai wrote, “Nigerian youths need to be intentional. Kenyan youths protesting against the finance bill have already told parliamentarians that voted in favour of the bill that they will not retain their seats in the next elections.”

He also urged Nigerian youths to stop defending corrupt politicians and instead hold them accountable, emphasizing the need for intentional political engagement to drive meaningful change.
“The youths are ready to get active politically. In Nigeria, you will see some youths defend these politicians,” he added.
