Jibrin Ibrahim, a political science professor and former director of the Center for Democracy and Development (CDD), has shed light on the reasons behind the ongoing protests in Nigeria.
In an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Ibrahim pointed out that the current administration’s failure to fulfill its promises has led to a collapse in governance.
He further noted that the escalating inflation has resulted in widespread hunger among Nigerians across the country.
His words, “When you are told continuously that you will see them and you wait for weeks, months and a year and nothing is coming. You know that what you are told is just a narrative not based on reality.
Ibrahim stated that the growing discontent among Nigerians with the government is evident in their recent actions.
“That is why Nigerians are very upset. They are very angry. They are being deceived regularly and systematically by a government that feels that it can tell stories and we survive.
