The Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has called for the arrest of Dan Bello, a journalist and filmmaker whose real name Bello Galadanchi, following an exposé on public funds theft in the state.
In a skit released on August 1 1, Bello, known for his satirical clips, claimed former Kano commissioner Murtala Sule Garo stole N10 billion in public funds. The clip attached pictures of documents and receipts linking Garo to the crime.
Bello narrated how Garo failed to use the funds, about N10 billion, to serve his people in Kano.
According to him, Garo diverted the funds to bureau de change companies, converted the naira to Saudi riyal and paid for real estate overseas. He added that Garo moved the funds from his AU and MJ companies to BDCs Muftahi Sani and NNM Fagge.

Reacting to this development of EFCC calling for Bello’s arrest, a twitter user, @MissPearls took to her X handle on Tuesday and wrote, “Murtala Sule Garo stole N10B from LGAs in Kano and bought a hotel suite in Mecca.
“Yahaya Bello laundered over N80B in Kogi Both are of APC.
“Right under EFCC’s noses. Yet, it’s Dan Bello they want!.”
Her post has been greeted with lots of comments by Nigerians on X annoyed with such news.
Elvis Chi Nwosu tweeted, “And when Nigerian people protest against these embezzlers their APC president will send security forces to teargas and kill them.”
Osunfirstson wrote, “EFCC won’t arrest you no matter how much you stole as long as you are APC member.”
Another twitter user, Obidatti Queen wrote, “APC -den of thieves.”
