Nigerians Lambast Tinubu for Consoling Donald Trump Over Rally Shooting While Staying Silent on Jos School Building Collapse Tragedy

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has faced backlash from Nigerians for the consoling message he sent to Donald Trump over the rally shooting in Pennsylvania while keeping silent at the Jos school building collapse which claimed the lives of students.

Tinubu took to his X handle on Sunday to write a commiserating message which read thus, “The attack on former President Donald Trump is distasteful and goes beyond the pale of democratic norms.

” Violence has no place in democracy. I extend my sympathies to the former President and wish him relief.

” I also condole with the family of the deceased and those wounded and wish them a quick recovery. Nigeria stands in solidarity with the United States of America at this time,” he said.

However, in response to his message, upset Nigerians on Twitter criticized Tinubu, highlighting his insensitivity for remaining silent about a tragic incident in his own country while commenting on an event that occurred abroad.

One of them, Mrs Zanga wrote, “A school building collapsed few days ago claiming the lives of students and the leaders of tomorrow but you didn’t sympathize with Nigerians or condole the families of the bereaved. These are the people you swore to serve, not America.”

Abiodun A. Adeleke tweeted, “Broooo, a school building collapsed in Jos, Plateau State, NIGERIA some days ago, about 22 children/people lost their lives and about 200 injured and no words on it from you, our president. And here you are talking about America? Really? Really?”

Another Twitter user CHUKS picked one of the phrases Tinubu used in his speech to expose Tinubu’s insincere act which played out in the 2023 presidential election.

He tweeted, “‘Violence has no place in democracy’ Kitikpa gbagbuo gi Tchief Tinubu. This MC Oluomo threatened Igbos that they won’t vote in his polling unit in Lagos State during the presidential election last year. Ibu Ezigbote Nkita Ara this man.”

Valking further wrote, “You never address anything wey we Dey suffer for this country, but you sharply buy data talk about Trump.”

Another Twitter user with the name, Emir Sirdam wrote, “Druggie we haven’t forgotten how your Ronu Terrorists killed and maimed innocent voters in the February 2023 elections after you told them to grab it, snatch it, and run with it.”

“See life !!! So you can be quick to respond and you can’t respond to your own country’s cry for help ahhh. If hypocrite was a person,” Hood nigga wrote.
