Recently, the price of cooking gas in Nigeria has continued to rise, reaching N1500 per kg, leaving people more frustrated by the ongoing economic challenges and searching for alternative options.
The gradual increase in the price of cooking gas has got Nigerians lamenting, especially on social media, comparing the old time of N250 per kg to the current situation of N1500 per kg.
Many react with utter shock and disbelief while some seem unsurprised as they said they expected it to come to the new price on X formerly Twitter.
Natural gas which was earlier sold for ₦1300 per kg has now accelerated to ₦1500 per kg. In Ibadan, a kg costs #1400, while in Akure #1500.
Nigerians enunciate their thoughts on social media platforms. On X, @ani ukpanah said the last price was ₦1350. Just a little remaining for the now price to be ₦2000

@Afrokonnect said that the hike is driven by factors such as the high exchange rage, rise in global gas price and increase in operational costs.
