The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected calls for a reversal of policies by Chief Bola Tinubu-led government, insisting that the administration remains committed to its Renewed Hope agenda.
Speaking on Friday, APC Director of Publicity, Alhaji Bala Ibrahim, dismissed claims by the opposition that the government’s policies were detrimental to democracy, stressing that the party’s agenda aims to deliver the dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
This comes after the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) accused the APC of rigging the September 21 governorship election in Edo State to establish a one-party system in Nigeria.
The PDP also expressed concern over the state of the nation’s economy, blaming APC policies for the deteriorating situation.
However, the party has urged the opposition to engage in constructive criticism rather than destructive attacks and to support the government’s efforts to drive positive change for the country.
Ibrahim stated, “The APC as a ruling party is not intending to foist on the country anything that is going to injure democracy.
“The APC is a progressive party; it is a party that is out to bring changes that will bring about dividend of democracy to the people. Democracy is only vibrant when there is opposition, but let the opposition be constructive, not destructive.

“The country had been bleeding heavily under the leadership of the PDP; they mismanaged the country. So Nigerians are still watching and beginning to understand what change means,” he added
Ibrahim stressed that the policies of the APC led government were not anti-people but aimed at uplifting their socio-economic well-being in a near future.
