Nigeria’s Debt Increases by ₦24.33trn in Three Months, Now ₦121.67trn Under Tinubu’s Govt

According to the Debt Management Office (DMO), Nigeria’s total public debt is now ₦ 121.67 trillion ($91.46 billion).

The Debt Management Office (DMO) reported that as of March 31, 2024, Nigeria’s total domestic and external debt stood at ₦121.67 trillion ($91.46 billion).

This marks a significant increase in the country’s debt within three months, rising by ₦24.33 trillion from ₦97.34 trillion ($108.23 billion) in December 2023 to ₦121.67 trillion ($91.46 billion) by March 2024.

The debt encompasses external and domestic borrowings by the Federal Government, the 36 state governments, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
