BREAKING: NLC Calls for Emergency Meeting as Police Summon Ajaero Over Terrorism Financing Allegations

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called an emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting following the police invitation of its National President, Joe Ajaero, over allegations of terrorism financing.

The NEC meeting is set to take place at 8 a.m. on Tuesday in the Olaitan Oyerinde Hall at Labour House, with all affiliate leaders and state chapter heads of the NLC expected to attend.

The meeting was called by NLC Secretary General, Emmanuel Ugboaja, in a notice titled “Notice of Emergency National Executive Council Meeting.”

Ajaero’s summons is tied to ongoing investigations into charges of “criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion, and cybercrime.”

The police letter, signed by ACP Adamu Mu’azu, instructed Ajaero to appear at the IRT Complex on Tuesday at 10 a.m., warning that a warrant of arrest would be issued if he fails to comply.

This incident follows a security raid on the NLC national secretariat in Abuja on July 7, during which police claimed they were searching for incriminating documents linked to an international “subversive” figure.
