Ahead of the Edo 2024 gubernatorial elections, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, has issued a stern warning to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against any irregularities.
In a video shared on Twitter, Obi reaffirmed his commitment to ending electoral malpractices, stating unequivocally, “Time of rigging is coming to an end in this country. We are bringing it to an end. Everybody that rigs the election, we will rig them.”
He emphasized the urgent need for free and fair elections, Obi, supporting Olumide Akpata, the Labour Party candidate, highlighted the critical role of transparent electoral processes.
He advocated for the deployment of advanced technologies such as Biometric Voter Verification Systems (Bivas) and the Integrated Results Transmission Framework (IRF) to ensure seamless and credible elections. “No glitch, no hitches,” he said.

He underscored the Labour Party’s dedication to promoting electoral integrity and addressing the challenges facing Nigerians, including hunger and hardship.
