The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has said there won’t be a price hike for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, anytime soon.
The NNPC declared in a press release posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) page that the rumours circulating about the increase in petrol prices to N1,200 are unfounded.

No Increase in PMS Prices, NNPC Ltd. Assures Nigerians
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd. assures the public that there is no imminent increase in the cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.
The company urges Nigerians to disregard unfounded rumours and assures them that there are no plans for an upward review of the PMS price.

Motorists nationwide are advised against engaging in panic buying, as there is presently ample availability of PMS across the country.”
