Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has had one of his legs amputated after undergoing seven different surgeries.
The actor’s daughter, Chelsea Okafor, announced the sad news on Monday via his social media handles.
According to Chelsea, the amputation was necessary to keep her father alive and aid his recovery process.
She said that her father had gone through seven successful surgeries as of 1 pm on Monday, but his condition was still very delicate and he needed all the help he could get.

She also expressed her gratitude to everyone who had supported her father during this difficult period, saying that the Okafor family was grateful and did not take anyone for granted.
She added that her father would personally acknowledge everyone who helped him as soon as he was stable.
Mr. Ibu is a veteran actor who has featured in many Nollywood movies and is known for his comic roles.
He is regarded as one of the most talented and hilarious actors in the industry. His fans and colleagues have been sending him prayers and wishes for a speedy recovery.
