The Northern Comrades Movement of Nigeria (NCMN), a non-partisan organization, in collaboration with regional civil society organizations (CSOs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and grassroots youth and women’s organizations, has urged Nigerians to fully participate in a nationwide hardship protest.
In a press release titled “1 August 2024 Protest: NCMN Stages Protest Against Bad Governance, Insecurity, Unemployment, and Hunger in Nigeria,” the group announced its intentions.
Mal. Jabir Ibrahim Taro, National Chairman of NCMN, stated that the organization is fighting against corruption and advocating for peace, justice, and good governance.
The protest, tagged #EndbadGovernance in Nigeria, is a response to the unbearable suffering of the masses under the current administration.
The statement partly read, “The planned nationwide protest against hardship is a fight for the rescue of our democracy. He emphasized the courage is necessary needed to stand up against intimidation, with faith, hope and vision to liberate the people and chart a new course of development in our region and the country in entirety.
“As youth we are catalyst of change and we must protest in order to call the attention of the federal Republic of Nigeria under this administration demanding and improved Governance, Economic empowerment of lives and properties and setting effective reforms mechanism,” the statement added.
