Northern Youth Group Hails Tompolo in Fight Against Oil Theft

Northern Youths Progressive Network has praised Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd (TSSNL) for its significant role in safeguarding the nation’s oil and gas assets in the Niger Delta Region.

In a statement issued by Bala Mohammed, Convener of the Northern Youths Progressive Network, the group expressed satisfaction with the recent achievements in combating oil theft in the region.

The statement highlighted the successful joint operations conducted by the Ondo State chapter of TSSNL in collaboration with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). The operations led to the disruption of criminal activities and the destruction of a large quantity of stolen crude oil.

“The operation at the criminal camp along Alowe sea shore in Ilaje Local Government Area resulted in the destruction of 700 kegs containing 21,000 litres of crude oil stored in a large reservoir,” the statement said.

The group also applauded TSSNL for its role in recent arrests and seizures, including the apprehension of vessels involved in illegal oil activities between January and February 2024.

“Tantita has demonstrated its capability in securing our national assets in the oil and gas sector, thereby boosting the nation’s economy through enhanced oil revenue,” the statement continued.

The Northern Youths Progressive Network urged the Federal Government to show genuine political will in supporting TSSNL’s efforts by prosecuting economic saboteurs responsible for destroying national resources.

“We are optimistic that the engagement of Tompolo’s Tantita Security company by the Federal Government is gradually restoring sanity to the nation’s oil and gas sector,” the statement emphasized.

The group also commended the personnel of NSCDC for their dedication to protecting national assets and called for other security agencies in the region to emulate their example.

“We urge other security agencies operating in the oil-rich region to follow suit and work towards making Nigeria a safe environment for businesses to thrive,” the statement concluded.

The commendation comes amidst ongoing efforts to combat oil theft and ensure the security of Nigeria’s valuable natural resources in the Niger Delta region.
