The President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Festus Osifo, has announced that the Organised Labour is open to adjustments on the proposed minimum wage, contrary to earlier reports of insisting on N250,000.
Osifo made this statement on Friday during an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, where he emphasized that labour is not fixated on any specific amount.
Osifo stated, “What we said is that for us when we give figures, there is always a room to meander, there is always a room for us to do some adjustment here and there.
“So, there is no figure that is sacrosanct, there is no figure that is cast in stone that both parties will be fixated on it,” he added.

Recall that labour had insisted on a minimum wage of N250,000 at the conclusion of the Tripartite Committee meeting.
In contrast, the Federal Government’s representatives and the Organised Private Sector proposed N62,000. However, Chief Bola Tinubu has not yet announced his decision on the matter.
