Vote Rigging: “Nothing Has Changed Since Feb 25th; INEC Will Always Remain INEC” – Nigerians React as Alleged Election Fraud Rocks Edo

Following the recent Edo election, many Nigerians have expressed anger and frustration over what they believe to be clear signs of vote rigging and electoral manipulation by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Many cited fraud in some electoral wards in the state.

Some Nigerians alleged that in Etsako East Local Government Area, the All Progressives Congress (APC) reportedly received 352 votes, even though only 213 voters were accredited, showing evidence of rigging.

This irregularity has led to accusations of election fraud, with people voicing their disappointment.

Many Nigerians are comparing this incident to the February 25th presidential elections, where similar issues of alleged rigging were reported. On social media such as Twitter, some citizens are saying, “Nothing has changed from February 25th; INEC will always remain INEC,” suggesting that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continues to be involved in controversial practice.

A Nigerian who tweeted as @misspearls voiced her concerns and wrote, “Almost 90% of results have been uploaded to iREV. Nothing has changed from Feb 25th. INEC will always remain INEC.”

He added that, “2027 will even be worst.”

Also reacting, @diipodipe wrote, ” I have always emphasised that INEC should be the focus of every youth of this country and not twitter bigotry and blame-trading. It should be the number one to the umpteenth item on agenda. “

@ chabiri02 also affirmed that, “If Mr Mahamud remains the INEC chairman APC will always take control of the results. “

Also tweeting as @marciaobi, a netizen said, “Anybody waiting for election for change of power is wasting their time. The cabal you have at the helm of power are terrorists and except you become a terrorist like them dont bother. I laugh at foolish Nigerians.”

As outrage grows, the public is demanding answers from INEC and calling for greater transparency in the electoral processs.
