NSCDC Pledges Maximum Security, Deploys 4,650 Operatives To Imo

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has assured the Imo electorate of maximum security in Saturday’s gubernatorial election.

The commandant-general of the NSCDC, Ahmed Audi made this known while addressing the 4,650 operatives of the NSCDC deployed to Imo for the election in the State on Friday.

Mr Audi urged the voters to come out en masse and exercise their franchise, saying that all necessary arrangements have been concluded for a successful election. He said the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps operatives were well trained and equipped to provide safety and security for the election.

He also advised the electorate to play by the rules of the game and avoid any form of violence or malpractice. He warned that anyone caught disrupting the electoral process would be dealt with according to the law.

Mr Audi further said the NSCDC would work in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure adequate protection of the electorate, electoral materials and personnel of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He enjoined his officers to remain non-partisan and professional in the discharge of their duties.

He also cautioned them to resist any form of inducement from politicians and their supporters.
