In Sunday’s 3-1 Premier League win over a tough West Ham United team at Anfield, Darwin Nunez scored a great goal for Liverpool by expertly heading home a shot on the hour mark.
According to Reuters, the guests were left to regret some early missed chances. In the 15th minute, Nayef Aguerd fouled Mohamed Salah, giving Liverpool the lead with a penalty kick. Salah, an Egyptian attacker, stepped up and smashed home the ball.
The home team got going after that, but the Hammers tied the game before halftime when Jarrod Bowen dove at Virgil van Dijk’s feet and scored his fourth goal of the season with a beautiful low shot.
Nunez grabbed a high pass from Alexis MacAllister, and Diogo Jota scored from a late corner to give them the win. With 16 points, they are now in second place in the table, two points behind leaders Manchester City. West Ham is in seventh place with 10 points.
