Governor Nwifuru Warns Supreme Court Justices Against Corruption

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has cautioned Justice Obande Ogbuinya, the recently appointed Supreme Court judge, to be vigilant of corrupt politicians while carrying out his duties.

Speaking at a thanksgiving Mass organized by Justice Ogbuinya to commemorate his elevation to the apex court, Governor Nwifuru emphasized the importance of judicial independence and integrity.

“I charge you, the newly elevated Justice Ogbuinya, to steer clear of corrupt politicians. Let us allow the judges to do their work,” Governor Nwifuru urged, stressing the need to protect the judiciary from undue influence.

He applauded the judiciary for upholding its role as the last resort for the common man and advocated for increased funding to enhance the justice delivery system.

“There is a need for increased remuneration of the judges for effective justice delivery,” the governor asserted, highlighting the crucial role of adequate resources in ensuring a fair and efficient legal process.
