Oba of Benin, Ewuare, Declares Two-Week Fasting and Prayers for Concluded Edo ‘Peaceful’ Gubernatorial Election

The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, has declared a two-week fasting and prayer for the just concluded Edo peaceful elections while offering prayers for a bountiful harvest.

Speaking on behalf of the Oba, Stanley Obamwonyi, Esere of Benin on Tuesday sent an invite to all sons and daughters of Benin Kingdom, indigenes, and non-indigenes in Edo State to participate.

He stated that there was a need to thank God for the peaceful 2024 gubernatorial election and protection from evil.

“From September 26 to October 9, 2024, fasting will take place daily from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.,” the monarch said.

The oba further disclosed that there is a need to ask God for a bountiful harvest and peace in homes, families, and the state in its entirety.
