With Little Or Nothing to Show, Obaseki is Leaving Edo State With Over 600 Billion Naira in Debt — Olumide Akpata

Olumide Akpata, the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour party in Edo State, has expressed grave concerns over the alleged financial situation of the state, claiming that the outgoing administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki is leaving behind a staggering debt of over 600 billion Naira.

In a post on his official X handle, Akpata highlighted the disparity between the extravagant lifestyles of politicians, contractors, and cronies, and the enduring hardships faced by millions of residents of Edo State.

He emphasized that such a level of hardship cannot be justified, calling for urgent action to address the situation.

Akpata, who is positioning himself as a leader with the capacity to build a prosperous Edo State, emphasized the need for governance that prioritizes the well-being of the people above all else.

He pledged to stand with the people of Edo and to work tirelessly to improve their living conditions if elected.

“The next administration will inherit over N600B in debt. Yet while many politicians, contractors, and cronies live large, millions of Edo people continue to endure a level of hardship that cannot be justified.
