Former Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, embarked on a philanthropic mission to Lafia, Nasarawa State, where he met with the Emir of Lafia, Honorable Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad JSC Rtd, and Governor Abdullahi Sule. The purpose of his visit was to extend support to the community during the holy month of Ramadan and to address pressing needs.
During his visit, Mr. Peter demonstrated his commitment to assisting those in need by providing aid to approximately 100 individuals and overseeing the installation of a borehole, a critical resource for the community. Speaking about his initiative, Mr. Obi emphasized the importance of leaders meeting people at their points of need.
“In our new nation, leadership must prioritize the needs and experiences of the people,” Mr. Obi stated. “These visits are invaluable opportunities for me to gain insight into the realities faced by our people and to demonstrate responsibility and empathy as a leader.”
Furthermore, Mr. Obi and his team participated in breaking the Ramadan fast with around 1000 individuals at the Maraba-Nyanya International Market Central Mosque, fostering unity and cooperation during the auspicious season.
