Obi Condemns Brutal Killings of Nigerian Army Officers in Delta State

Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has strongly condemned the recent brutal killing of Nigerian Army officers during a peacekeeping mission in Delta State. The tragic incident, which occurred on Thursday, March 14, 2024, saw the loss of several valuable lives, including a Lieutenant Colonel, two Majors, one Captain, and 12 soldiers.

The soldiers were on a rescue mission to Okuama community, aiming to free a hostage named Mr. Anthony Aboh, who was reportedly abducted amidst the ongoing land dispute between Okuama and Okoloba communities. However, their mission took a devastating turn when they were ambushed and surrounded by community youths, leading to their untimely demise.

According to him, the troops from the 181 Amphibious Battalion in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State were responding to a distress call arising from the communal crisis between Okuama and Okoloba communities when they were attacked.
