The Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has donated an additional ₦10 million to Dominican College, Abatete, in Anambra State.
The donation builds on a previous contribution of ₦25 million made by Obi in July 2025 when he laid the foundation for the boys’ hostel, a project he is helping to fund.
Obi shared the update on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday.
During his visit, Obi emphasised the importance of education in shaping responsible future leaders, saying such investments help steer young people away from crime and insecurity.

“I am always encouraged when I see such investments translating into the development of responsible future leaders for our country—young people who, without education and proper guidance, could easily be drawn into crime or insecurity.”
He highlighted his consistent support for the institution over the years, adding, “Over the years, I have also supported the institution with a female hostel, buses, computers, generators, internet connectivity, and a borehole—consistent efforts aimed at improving the learning environment for our children.”

He concluded on a hopeful note, declaring, “A new Nigeria is possible.”
