Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has described the death of Oriyomi Onanuga, the deputy chief whip of the House of Representatives as a profound loss.
In a post made in X on Friday, January 17, Obi said he was saddened by Onanuga’s death.
The former governor of Anambra State said, “Her demise is a profound loss, not only to her family and colleagues but to the nation at large, given her remarkable contributions to the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North constituency of Ogun State and her service in the legislature.”
Further commiserating with the family and friends of the late lawmaker, he prayed for God to grant her eternal rest.
He said, “On behalf of myself and the Obidient family, I extend my heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues in the National Assembly. May the Almighty God grant her eternal rest and bring solace to her loved ones during this difficult time.”
