In a strategic move to bolster its political influence, the Obidient Movement has announced the launch of a nationwide grassroots mobilization campaign, set to begin on Monday, March 17, 2025, across all Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Nigeria.
According to a statement shared by Morris Monye on X, the initiative aims to organize supporters, known as Obidients, into Local Government Areas (LGAs) across the country.
With Nigeria divided into 774 LGAs, the campaign seeks to foster familiarity and coordination among members from the North to the South, West to the East, ensuring a unified and localized approach to political engagement.
The movement seeks to ensure better coordination, facilitate political discussions, and build a strong network for the 2027 elections.
The mobilization strategy involves weekly meetings in each LGA, where Obidients will discuss mobilization efforts, map out local areas, and build a network of trusted polling unit agents.
Monye emphasized the importance of knowing each other within LGAs to prevent external individuals from claiming roles like polling unit agents, which could undermine the movement’s integrity.

Indicating that “Mr. A can’t come from another LG to claim a polling unit agent because we must have all familiarized ourselves in each LG,” he stated in a post on X, highlighting the grassroots focus of the campaign.
To execute this ambitious plan, the Obidient Movement is calling for volunteers to assist with the LGA groupings.
Interested individuals are instructed to contact a designated WhatsApp number (+234 707 373 4731) with no calls or pleasantries—just a direct commitment to the task.
Monye stressed the urgency and scale of the effort, warning that those unable to dedicate time should refrain from volunteering.
The movement also encourages supporters to join its WhatsApp Channel for real-time updates, underscoring its commitment to a transparent and efficient operation.
This mobilization effort comes at a pivotal moment for the Obidient Movement, which gained national attention during the 2023 presidential election through its support for Peter Obi and the Labour Party.
However, focusing on grassroots mobilization, the movement aims to deepen its impact and drive political change across Nigeria, declaring, “A new Nigeria is very possible.”
The initiative aligns with broader strategies of community organizing and voter engagement highlighted in recent analyses, positioning the Obidients as a formidable force in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape.
