The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Usman Ahmed Ododo the victor of the 2023 Kogi State Governorship Election, even though the collation of results has not yet been completed.
Usman, who previously served as the Auditor General for Local Governments in Kogi State, emerged triumphant in a fiercely competitive electoral contest.

The battlefield saw him cross swords with formidable adversaries such as Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Leke Abejide of the African Democratic Party (ADC), and Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
With 446,237, Ododo defeated his closest rivals, Ajaka, who received 259,052, and Dino Melaye, who received 46,362.
