The Ogun State Government has issued a warning to hip-hop artiste Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, over his alleged habit of assaulting government officials without provocation.
Portable, known for controversies since his breakout song “Zazuu Zeh,” has been involved in various altercations, from disputes with his baby mamas and show promoters to previous run-ins with the police.
A statement released on Friday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, condemned the alleged assault on officials of the State Planning and Development Permit Authority by miscreants reportedly hired by the musician.
The incident, which occurred in the Iyana-Ilogbo area of the state, was described as a serious offense.
“We are profoundly taken aback by the unpleasant and uncivil act of the hip-hop artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, on Wednesday, in Iyana-Ilogbo area of the state where his bar is located,” the statement read.
“The way in which Portable and some set of miscreants he employed in the dastardly act attacked the officials of the State Planning and Development Permit Authority is not only bizarre but a confirmation of the erosion of Omoluabi ethos in those individuals and indeed a great disgrace to the state.”

Akinmade stated that the latest attack by Portable and his cohorts against government officials carrying out lawful duties was unacceptable and barbaric. He assured that the matter would be handled according to the law.
He reiterated the Dapo Abiodun-led administration’s commitment to maintaining law and order in the state and upholding the Omoluabi ethos, emphasizing that unlawful acts would not be tolerated.
“Governor Dapo Abiodun totally condemned this primitive and indecent act and reiterated his avowed commitment to a just and egalitarian society as he is ready to make any individual flouting the extant law of the land face the full wrath of the law irrespective of social status and influence.”
