In a shocking incident on Wednesday afternoon, Mr. Taiwo Oyekanmi, the Director of Finance and Accounts for the Governor’s Office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, fell victim to a ruthless attack by unidentified gunmen.
The Director of Finance and Accounts, Oyekanmi was fatally shot on top of the NNPC Bridge while returning from a bank where he had gone to withdraw funds in preparation for the governor’s budget presentation scheduled for Thursday. According to witnesses, the armed assailants, suspected to be robbers, targeted Oyekanmi during the broad daylight attack.
After being shot, he was swiftly rushed to the State Hospital in Ijaye, Abeokuta, where medical professionals pronounced him dead. The spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, SP Omolola Odutola, stated that she is yet to receive a briefing on the tragic development, leaving many questions surrounding the ongoing investigation.

Despite the lack of official police statements, two high-ranking civil servants from the Governor’s Office in Oke-Mosan confirmed the incident, revealing that a somber atmosphere now pervades the secretariat.
