Ogun State: Three Bodies Found in Suspected Cult Killings

Three unnamed bodies were found in an abandoned building at Abibatun Toronbi Community, Ijoko-Ota, in the state’s Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, according to the Ogun State Police Command. A competing cult organisation is thought to have murdered the victims.

According to reports, the attackers chopped off the victims’ left hands in addition to macheting them to death. Reports also suggest that, Memory and Rilwan, two of the deceased, belonged to the Eiye Confraternity. They had been wanted by the police for a number of offences.

A community representative from Abibatun Toronbi informed the Ijoko Police Post about the horrifying discovery. Police showed up at the spot after receiving the report and verified the killings’ brutality.

The bodies were removed and taken to the mortuary for further analysis. The police are currently closely monitoring the area.

With the aid of local informants, the police have started a detailed investigation into the deaths. This allowed for the identification of members of the Eiye Confraternity, a competing cult organisation. There are continuous efforts to learn more about these cult organisations and their ties with nearby criminal activity.

The police are devoted to holding those responsible for cultism and associated crimes accountable in order to protect the community’s safety and security. In order to combat cultism and ensure that everyone lives in a calm and secure environment, they have called for community cooperation.
