Voting in the governorship election in Bayelsa state has finally begun in Okpoama ward, the home of the APC candidate Timipre Sylva, after a three-hour delay caused by the late arrival of electoral materials.

The Okpoama ward, which has 17 polling centres and is located in Brass local council, witnessed a large turnout of voters who patiently waited for the accreditation and voting process to commence at about 11:00 a.m.

The voting exercise was conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner, with security personnel, party agents, and INEC officials on ground to ensure a smooth and credible process.
