Nigeria’s Super Falcons have clinched their spot in the final round of qualifiers for the women’s football event at the 2024 Olympics, defeating Cameroon 1-0 on aggregate in the third round of qualifiers for the quadrennial games.
Despite a goalless draw at the Stade de la Réunification, Douala, on Friday, the Falcons secured a crucial goal against Cameroon at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, on Monday, courtesy of an early strike from Esther Okoronkwo.
The closely contested match saw the Cameroonians pushing forward, seeking to equalize and snatch a win on the road, but Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie made critical saves to deny them.
