Team Nigeria has officially concluded its participation in the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France, without winning a single medal.
This marks the country’s worst performance at the Olympics since the 2012 London Games.
The last hope for a medal rested on Hannah Reuben in the women’s freestyle wrestling 76kg category. However, she was defeated in her second-round match by Mongolia’s Davaanasan Amar Enkh, with a score of 5-2 by points.

Earlier, Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan failed to secure a place in the final of the women’s 100m hurdles, further dashing the nation’s hopes for a podium finish.
Additionally, Nigeria’s 4x400m men’s relay team was disqualified after their semi-final race.
The next Olympic Games will be held in Los Angeles in 2028, where Team Nigeria will aim for a better performance.
