Ondo Assembly Declares Lucky Aiyedatiwa Acting Governor

In adherence to medical advice advocating continued health monitoring post-recovery, Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, has officially communicated his medical leave to the State House of Assembly.

Acknowledging the letter on behalf of fellow lawmakers, the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, affirmed that the Governor’s action aligns with Section 190 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

As per the communication, Deputy Governor Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa is now designated to assume the gubernatorial responsibilities in an acting capacity until a contrary written declaration is made.

The commencement of the leave is slated for Wednesday, December 13, 2023.

Expressing gratitude for the Governor’s swift recovery, Speaker Oladiji conveyed optimism about Akeredolu’s prompt return to his official duties.
