Nigerians have expressed concern over the upcoming Ondo State election, with many suggesting the poll results are already decided and predicting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will perform even worse rigging tricks than previous elections.
This reaction comes on the heels of accusations surrounding the recent Edo State election, which some Nigerians believe was rigged by the APC to secure a victory.
Social media platforms have been abuzz with discussions, with critics pointing to what they describe as “manipulated” outcomes in Edo, where the opposition parties and civil society groups have raised alarms about irregularities.

Many Nigerians fear that similar tactics could be employed in Ondo, undermining the credibility of the election process.
Reacting to this development, some netizens have criticized the conduct of electoral polls.
Taking to Twitter, a netizen @morris_monye tweeted, “Sadly, APC will do worse than they did in Edo state in terms of field theatrics. PDP or LP won’t be able to match them. He added that, “election of Ondo state has been decided a month ago.”
Another aggrieved Netizen who tweeted as @anthonustilldey wrote, “we don’t stop this rubbish now, we might up being ruled by APC forever.”
Also reacting, @Trey_Daniel1 tweeted, “Business as usual for APC.”
“Exactly. They don’t need our vote to win election. The only way out is to confront the system,” @amazingnature wrote.
Reacting, @sirice stated, “A direct source told me that Edo State election was since completed before the actual date. This is Nigeria.”
Affirming to the reactions, @de_dave tweeted, “Sad truth we are not practice democracy in Nigeria.”
“We learned the hard way in Edo. Those advising someone to run in 2027 without any INEC or Judiciary Reforms are wicked,” @steveose stated.
Another netizen, @contrarianviewz, said, “With the election in Ondo already decided, it’s heartbreaking to anticipate a repeat of the tactics we saw in Edo.
He added, “The reality is that other parties will struggle to compete under these conditions, leaving electorates with limited true choices.”
