Ondo/Rivers Crises: Don’t Take Sides, Follow Constitution, APC Chieftain Urges Tinubu

Ondo

Yekini Nabena, the former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has issued a stern warning to Bola Tinubu regarding his involvement in the ongoing political turmoil within Rivers and Ondo.

In a recent statement, Nabena urged Tinubu to adhere strictly to the Constitution when addressing the political situations in both states.

Nabena emphasised the importance of the Tinubu’s role as the nation’s patriarch, advising against any political bias, particularly in Ondo’s affairs. He stressed that Tinubu’s actions should reflect his commitment to democracy and equality, rather than dictatorial tendencies.

“Bola Tinubu must demonstrate his dedication to democratic principles and avoid politicising the issues in Rivers and Ondo,” Nabena stated. “It is crucial that our Constitution is upheld during these times.”

Nabena called on the APC to closely examine its party Constitution, noting that the National Working Committee lacks the authority to disband an elected chairman and his executive in Rivers.
