One person was killed and three others were injured on Sunday when a rocket fired by Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon hit a community near the Israeli border in the north.
The incident took place in Shtula, a rural settlement next to the border fence and across from the Lebanese settlement of Ayta a-Shab, according local report.
Initially, the Israeli medical personnel stated that the strike had injured two people, however, it was later revealed that one person had died and three others had been injured.
On social media, a soldier was seen inspecting an immobilised, bloodied man wearing civilian attire in Shtula.
The Israeli military declared that it was responding to the strike by attacking Lebanon.
As regional tensions rise, the international community is keeping a careful eye on the situation.
This event comes after a recent attack that resulted in the deaths of two soldiers and a senior Israel Defence Forces (IDF) official. The IDF had attributed the cross-border assault to Hezbollah.
Both parties are on high alert, and the situation is still fluid. The world community is encouraging moderation to stop the bloodshed from escalating further.
