Osimhen Ends Goal Drought Amid Napoli Saga

Victor Osimhen scored the second goal for Napoli in their 4-1 victory against Udinese on Wednesday to end his 4 games goal drought.

The prolific striker, who scored twice in their opening game against Frosinone and once in matchday 2 against Sassuolo, has since not hit the target for Napoli until the game against Udinese.

He went four straight matches without scoring.

Prior to breaking his goal drought, in the game against Bologna, Osimhen missed an important penalty for Napoli in the 72nd minute that could have seen his team scoop up three points in that encounter.

Consequently, in that game, his substitution in the 86th minute took a dramatic turn where the 24-year-old was seen disputing coach Rudi Garcia’s decision to replace him with Giovanni Simeone.

The situation soon escalated outside the pitch as the player deleted pictures of the club from his Instagram page and the club posted videos that were later deleted on its TikTok account to mock the player.

Osimhen’s goal against Udinese marks his return to scoring ways, as he has now registered four goals in all competitions this season.
