Osun Govt Debunks Rumours of Adeleke’s Absence, Says He is on Working Vacation

Osun

The Osun State Government has refuted the rumours that Governor Ademola Adeleke has abandoned his duties and is missing in action.

The government said that the governor has informed the people of the state of his working vacation to Europe and Asia, which is the first time he has taken a break since he became the governor.

The government’s clarification came after some reports, allegedly from the office of the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Adeleke on New Media, circulated on some Whatsapp and social media platforms, claiming that the governor would make a statewide broadcast on Monday, November 27, 2023.

In a statement signed by Olalekan Badmus, Special Assistant (New Media), to Governor Adeleke on Monday, he described the reports as fake and the handiwork of mischief makers. He denied issuing the statement and urged the general public to disregard it as false.

Badmus also revealed that the governor had directed the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, to brief the media on the one-year landmark achievements of the administration on Monday, November 27 (today).

The Governor had also stopped any celebration of his one year in office to conserve state resources and to keep in line with the challenging times currently facing the citizenry.”

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Osun State accused Governor Adeleke of lying about his whereabouts in a statement on Sunday.

The statement, signed by Tajudeen Lawal, the Osun APC chairman, alleged that Governor Adeleke had been holidaying in the United States of America in the last two weeks.
