The Management of Osun State University (UniOsun) has disclosed that its server was hacked overnight by unknown persons attempting to disrupt a teachers’ recruitment test organised by the Osun State government, which was scheduled for this Wednesday.
A statement issued by the University’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Ademola Adesoji, explained that the server was attacked at midnight but prompt response frustrated the attempt by the hackers to breach core software and the question bank.
“Unexpectedly, our server was attacked at midnight today (Wednesday). We responded technically and frustrated attempts to breach our core software and question bank.

“The damage inflicted on the server required time to resolve, resulting in an undue delay in the start of exams and necessitating the rescheduling of tests at two out of thirteen centers.
“We are relieved that the hackers or opponents of this recruitment process have failed in their attempts to thwart us. Over the last eight or so hours, it has been a tough battle in our efforts to ensure the success of Osun State government,” Adesoji stated.
