Governor Otti Takes Action On Insecurity, Forms Security Advisory Council, Trust Fund for Abia

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has approved the establishment of a Security Advisory Council and a Security Trust Fund for the state, as announced in a press release issued on Friday by the governor’s chief press secretary, Kazie Uko.

The former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Azubuike Ihejirika (Rtd), has been appointed as the chairman of the Security Advisory Council. Other members of the council include DIG Uche Ivy Okoronkwo, Rtd (Vice chairman), Mr. Ray Nkemdirim, Maj. Gen. Abel Obi Umahi, Rtd, AVM Emmanuel Chukwu, Rtd, Maj. Gen. J.O. Nwaogbo, Rtd, and Navy Cmdr Macdonald Ubah Rtd, who will serve as the Secretary.

Additionally, Chief Stanley Obiamarije has been appointed as the chairman of the Security Trust Fund, with members including Owelle Greg Okafor, Mrs. Ngozi Ekeoma, Chief Johnson Chukwu, Mrs. Josephine Nweze, Mrs. Nkechi Obi, and Mr. Bank-Anthony Okoroafor.

All appointments are effective immediately. This move underscores Governor Otti’s commitment to enhancing security measures and promoting safety within Abia State.
