We Are Moving to Solve Problem of Power in Abia; It’s Doable — Otti Says as He Negotiates 80 Megawatts for Umuahia

Governor Alex Otti has announced that the Abia government is in negotiations with the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) to secure 80 megawatts of power for Umuahia.

The governor made this announcement during an interdenominational thanksgiving service at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia, celebrating his one year in office.

Governor Otti emphasized his administration’s dedication to fostering economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

He stated, “We are trying to solve the problem of power in Umuahia as we continue our negotiations with EEDC,” Mr Otti stated. “When we achieve maximum output, we will have not less than 80 megawatts of power willed to Umuahia that will serve the city.”

“It is doable and by the end of the year, or early in the new year, we would have achieved it.”

Mr Otti said the Abia government under his watch would continue to do the right thing “irrespective of whose ox is gored,” he added.

The governor reaffirmed his commitment to making decisions that benefit the public, regardless of opposition. He assured that his administration would maintain focus and not be swayed by negative comments from critics.

Additionally, Governor Otti acknowledged the significant contributions of religious leaders in promoting change and unity in Abia State. He promised that his government would uphold the principles of equity and fairness in delivering democratic dividends to Abians.
